  7. What about homestay safety?

As your safety is most important to us, we visit and inspect the prospective homestays, and review personal references before placing an international student there. All homestay hosts are required to attend a homestay host orientation, so they understand their responsibilities as a host, and can be better prepared to help students with the challenges they may face as an international visitor/student. A representative from our company visits the IUPUI Campus weekly, so students who wish to meet with us, can do so easily. Our company also provides an on-campus homestay student orientation shortly after student arrival. The orientation is an important part of your homestay experience, and will help you know what to expect while living in the American culture.
